Ingredients for Quick Sponge Cake

  • 3 eggs
  • 2 level teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1½ cups of granulated powder
  • ½ cup of milk or water
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • 2 cups of sifted flour

Instructions

  1. Beat the eggs, without separating the whites and yolks, and beat the sugar in gradually; add the milk and the flour, sifted two or three times with the baking powder and salt.
  2. Bake in a sheet about twenty-five minutes.
  3. Half of this recipe may be made by using one whole egg and the yolk of another with half of each of the other ingredients.
