Ingredients for Quick Parker House Rolls Recipe

  • 2½ cups bread flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 yeast cake
  • 1/3 cup lukewarm water
  • ½ cup milk

Instructions

  1. Sift together the bread flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Work in shortening.
  3. Dissolve yeast cake in lukewarm water and milk. Add to flour mixture.
  4. Beat mixture well and let rise.
  5. Turn out on floured board and roll to 1/3 inch thick.
  6. Shape in long ovals and dip lower half in melted butter. Fold over, buttered side up, and place in pans close together.
  7. Let rise again and bake for 10 minutes at 425 degrees F.
  8. Bake for another 10 minutes at 400 degrees F.
  9. Brush with melted butter before serving.
