Ingredients for Quick Dinner Rolls Recipe
- 1 compressed yeast cake
- ¾ cup scalded milk
- ¼ cup tepid water
- 2 tablespoons corn oil
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup
- ½ teaspoon salt
- From 3 to 4 cups bread flour
Instructions
- Dissolve the yeast in the water.
- Scald the milk. When it is cooled, combined it with the corn syrup, salt, and corn oil.
- Sift in three cups flour, beating hard. Add more to make it the right consistency to knead.
- Let rise until double in size. Cut down, roll to one-fourth-inch thickness, and brush sparingly with corn oil. Shape with a large round biscuit cutter and crease with the back of a knife.
- Fold into pocket shape, place in a pan oiled with corn oil, and let rise until double again.
- Bake 15-20 minutes in a hot oven, 375 degrees F.
