Ingredients for Prune And Date Bread Recipe

  • ½ cup prunes, stoned and soaked
  • ½ cup dates, chopped
  • 2½ cups flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon shortening, melted

Instructions

  1. Mix together flour, sugar, salt and baking powder.
  2. Add milk and beat well.
  3. Add melted shortening and fruits.
  4. Put into greased bread pan.
  5. Allow to stand for about 20 minutes.
  6. Bake at 400 degrees for about 45 minutes.
