Ingredients for Plum Pudding Sauce Recipe 2
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • ½ cup vegetable shortening
  • ¼ cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon lemon flavoring
  • 1 pint boiling water

Instructions
  1. Melt the vegetable shortening and stir into it the karo sirup.
  2. Mix the cornstarch with the sugar, and stir it into the vegetable shortening and sirup.
  3. Then stir in the boiling water.
  4. Let it boil up well, then add the vanilla and lemon flavoring.
