Ingredients for Plain Cake Recipe 2
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup shortening
- 1 teaspoon flavoring extract
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups flour
Instructions
- Cream shortening and add sugar, mixing well.
- Add egg and beat well, then flavoring extract.
- Add to the mixture a little at a time and alternately first the flour sifted with salt and baking powder, then the milk.
- Bake in a greased cake tin in moderate oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
