Pearl Barley Recipe

Ingredients for Pearl Barley Recipe
  • 1/2 cup pearl barley
  • 2 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions
  1. Clean the barley by rinsing it with boiling water until it runs clean.
  2. Put the washed barley, 2 1/2 cups boiling water, and salt into the inner part of a double boiler.
  3. With boiling water in the outer part, cook the barley for five hours, keeping the cover on the inner part of the double boiler.
  4. Serve with cream or raisins if desired.
