Ingredients for Peanut Fudge

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
  • 1 cup milk
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped peanuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Boil milk, sugar, vegetable shortening, and salt until it forms a soft ball when tested in cold water, or 240 degree F.
  2. Remove from fire, add nuts and vanilla, beat until creamy.
  3. Pour into vegetable shorteninged tins, and when cool cut into cubes.
