Ingredients for Paste
- 5 cups flour
- 1½ cups vegetable shortening
- 1/3 cup ground almonds
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 yolks of eggs
- 1½ teaspoons salt
- Water

Instructions
- Sift flour and almonds into basin, rub vegetable shortening into them, add salt, sugar, eggs well beaten and water to make stiff paste.
- Leave in cool place two hours, then roll out and use for pies and tartlets.
- Sufficient for four pies.
