Ingredients for Parsnip Fritters

  • Parsnips
  • Batter
  • Pepper and salt

Instructions

  1. Wash, and scrape the parsnips, and throw them into plenty of boiling water.
  2. Skim them frequently during boiling.
  3. They will be tender in half an hour to an hour, according to age and size.
  4. Moderate sized parsnips are most suitable for this dish.
  5. When they are quite tender, slice them either round or lengthwise, and dip them into frying batter.
  6. The batter may be seasoned if liked.
  7. Fry them in salad oil.
