Ingredients for Parker House Rolls Recipe 4

  • 2 cups milk, scalded
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 yeast cake
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Mix butter, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Scald the milk and let cool off until lukewarm.
  3. Add yeast and milk to butter, sugar, and salt.
  4. Add the yeast by mixing with it a little of the liquid at a time.
  5. Add about 3 cups of flour.
  6. Beat and knead.
  7. Let rise until double its original bulk.
  8. Knead again and let rise until it doubles in size again.
  9. Roll out on floured board and cut with biscuit cutter.
  10. Roll out in shape of rolls and place them in greased baking pan far enough apart so that they will keep their shape.
  11. Brush over with a little melted fat.
  12. Crease each roll with a knife.
  13. Let rise again for about 20 minutes.
  14. Bake at 425 degrees for about 15 minutes.
