Ingredients for Oyster Gumbo Recipe

  • 1 pint oysters
  • ½ can okra
  • 4 cups fish stock
  • 1/3 can tomatoes, heated and drained of some liquid
  • ¼ cup butter
  • Salt
  • 1 tablespoon chopped onion
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. Clean and parboil oysters. Drain and add oyster liquor to fish stock.
  2. Cook onion for five minutes in half the butter; add to stock.
  3. Add okra, tomatoes, oysters, and remaining butter.
  4. Season with salt and pepper.
