Ingredients for Orange Pie Recipe 1

  • 6 tablespoons orange juice
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons grated orange rind
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1½ cups water, boiling
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pie crust

Instructions

  1. Line pie plate with pie crust and bake for 10 minutes at 325-350 degrees, until light brown.
  2. Mix flour, cornstarch, sugar and salt together.
  3. Add 1/2 cup of cold water and mix well until smooth.
  4. Add slowly the eggs lightly beaten and the boiling water.
  5. Put on fire and cook, stirring constantly, until thickened (about 3 to 4 minutes).
  6. Add orange juice and orange rind.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Pour in pie crust and put in slow oven (175-250 degrees) for about 5 minutes, just long enough to have the mixture adhere to the crust.
