Old Fashioned Shortcake Recipe

Ingredients for Old Fashioned Shortcake

• (pastry only)
• 3 cups flour
• 4 tablespoons shortening
• 6 teaspoons baking powder
• ¾ cup milk
• ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Mix flour, salt and baking powder.
2. Add shortening by rubbing it in lightly with the tips of the fingers.
3. Add the milk.
4. Place in cake pan and bake in moderate oven for 20 minutes.
