Ingredients for Okra Soup Recipe 4
- 2 pounds soup meat
- 2 quarts cold water
- 1/4 peck okra
- 4 good sized tomatoes
- 1 onion
- 2 pieces celery
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 3 tablespoons rice
- 1/2 pint lima beans
- 3 ears corn cut from cob
Instructions
- Put soup meat in cold water and chop the vegetables fine.
- Bring it to a boil, skim, and put in okra, tomatoes, onion, celery, chopped parsley, and rice.
- Cook all together for four hours.
- An hour before serving, add lim beans.
- Fifteen minutes before serving, add corn.
- A good soup may be made without the celery, corn, and beans.
