Ingredients for Oatmeal Mush Recipe

  • 1/4 pound Scotch Oatmeal
  • 1 quart boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Put the oatmeal and salt in a double boiler. Pour on the boiling water and cook for ten minutes, stirring all the time.
  2. Cover and simmer for 4 hours, stirring occasionally.
  3. May be served with sugar and cream. Cooked apples may also be served with the mush, covered with sugar and cream.
