Instructions

  1. Follow the corn syrup Toffee , adding three-fourths cup chopped nut meats when the mixture is cooked.
  2. corn syrup Toffee: 1 pint corn syrup
  3. 2 cups sugar
  4. 1/2 cup rich milk
  5. Few grains salt
  6. 1 tablespoon corn oil
  7. 6 drops vanilla
  8. Combine the ingredients with the exception of the vanilla, and boil until the mixture forms a fairly firm ball when tried in cold water, 252 degrees F.
  9. Add the vanilla, beat a few minutes until the mixture is beginning to cream and looks thick, then pour one-half inch deep into a pan lightly oiled with corn oil and let stand several hours to become firm.
  10. Cut in sections with a sharp knife and wrap in waxed paper.
