Ingredients for Nut Cake Recipe 1

  • ½ cup butter or shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 cup chopped nutmeats
  • 4 egg whites

Instructions

  1. Cream butter or shortening and add the sugar.
  2. Mix and sift the dry ingredients and add alternately with the milk.
  3. Add nutmeats, well floured, and fold in the egg whites.
  4. Bake in a square loaf pan at 380 degrees Fahrenheit, and frost the top when cool, using any desired icing.
