Ingredients for Nut And Raisin Cake Recipe

  • ½ cup of butter
  • 2 level teaspoons of baking powder
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 3 eggs, unbeaten
  • ¾ cup of milk
  • 1 cup of nut meats
  • Grated rind of 1 lemon
  • ½ cups of raisins
  • ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 2 cups of sifted flour
  • ¼ teaspoon of mace

Instructions

  1. Add the eggs, one at a time, to the creamed butter and sugar and beat in thoroughly.
  2. Put the nuts and raisins through a food chopper, then rub these through the flour sifted with the baking powder and spices.
  3. Bake in a tube pan or in a sheet.
  4. Cover with caramel nut frosting.
