Ingredients for New England Raisin Pudding

  • 1½ cups raisins, cleaned
  • 1 cup water, boiling
  • 2½ cups milk, boiled
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup sugar
  • A little grated nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Put water and raisins in a saucepan and boil quickly until water is cooked away.
  2. Beat eggs and sugar together.
  3. Add slowly boiled milk, nutmeg and raisins.
  4. Pour into a pudding dish.
  5. Set pudding dish in a pan containing boiling water, and bake in a moderate oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
