Ingredients for Mulligatawney Soup Recipe
- 1 tablespoon melted vegetable shortening
- 1 minced onion
- 1 tablespoon minced cooked ham
- 3 cloves
- 1/2 carrot, chopped
- 1 stick celery, minced
- 1/2 cup cooked chicken, diced
- 3 pints chicken stock
- 1/2 green apple, diced
- 1/2 cup stewed or canned tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 2 tablespoons boiled rice
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 drops Tabasco sauce
Instructions
- Saute in vegetable shortening: onion, ham, cloves, carrot, and celery, chicken, and chicken stock.
- Cook fifteen minutes.
- Add green apple, tomatoes, ketchup, curry powder, rice, salt, Tabasco sauce.
- Simmer 1/2 hour and serve with or without thin slices of lemon cut in quarters.
