Molten Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients for Molten Chocolate Cake Recipe

  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 8 ounces semisweet chocolate chips, or bars, cut into bite-size chunks
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 teaspoons flour

This recipe creates 8 individual-sized cakes.

Instructions

  1. Warm chocolate and butter together until melted.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the eggs, sugar, and salt until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add melted chocolate mixture into egg mixture and beat until smooth.
  4. Stir in flour until combined.
  5. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F and place rack in middle of oven. Line a muffin tin with muffin papers. Muffin papers may be sprayed with vegetable cooking spray to help removal.
  6. Pour batter evenly among muffin tin.
  7. Bake for about 8-10 minutes so the outside is baked but the center is not.
  8. Remove cakes from tin and take off papers.
  9. If desired, top with berries or dust with powdered sugar and serve.
