Ingredients for Meat And Mashed Potato Pie Recipe

• Mashed potatoes
• Cooked cold meat
• Brown gravy
• Stewed tomatoes or catsup

Instructions

1. Carefully remove all gristle and any stringy fat from meat.
2. Cut cooked meat into small pieces.
3. Reserve half of the mashed pototoes, then line a buttered baking dish with the remaining half to create a one inch crust.
4. Cover potato crust with the meat.
5. Add 1/2 cup of stewed tomatoes or 3 tablespoons of tomato catsup to the brown gravy.
6. Pour the gravy over the meat.
7. To the reserved mashed potatoes add a well-beaten egg, then spread lightly over the top of the pie, leaving the surface rough.
8. Put bits of butter over the top and bake until well browned and heated throughout.
