Ingredients for Marshmallow Cake Recipe 1

  • 1 egg
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. 2 teaspoons baking-powder.
  2. Mix flour, salt, and baking-powder.
  3. Cream butter, add a quarter of the sugar, and beat.
  4. Add beaten egg and remainder of sugar, and beat four minutes.
  5. Add alternately flour and milk, beating well.
  6. Add vanilla, and bake in layer-cake pans in quick oven.
  7. Cut fine 1/2 pound marshmallows.
  8. Spread them between cake layers, and stand in open oven till they melt.
