Ingredients for Make Ahead Mashed Potatoes Recipe
- 4 pounds russet (Idaho) potatoes
- 2 1/2 cups half and half, plus extra if necessary
- Salt, to taste
- 6 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Scrub potatoes clean and place, with skin, in a large pot. Cover potatoes with water and bring to a boil.
- Simmer for 20-30 minutes or until tender.
- Puree or mash the potatoes until lump free.
- Warm half and half and stir in to potatoes.
- Add salt and beat until smooth.
- Can be kept in refrigerator for up to two days.
- Add butter before serving.
