Ingredients for Lunch Cakes Recipe

  • 1 scant cup sugar
  • 6 tablespoons vegetable shortening
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Cream vegetable shortening and sugar together, then add well beaten eggs.
  2. Sift dry ingredients, and add to first mixture alternately with milk.
  3. Divide into vegetable shorteninged and floured gem pans and bake in moderately hot oven fifteen minutes.
  4. Sufficient for fifteen cakes.
