Ingredients for Little French Tarts

  • +++
  • 1 pint strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, sliced peaches, apricots or stoned cherries
  • Few grains salt
  • 1-½ tablespoons Argo or Kingsfords Cornstarch
  • ¾ cup corn syrup
  • ½ cup water
  • Pastry shells

Instructions

  1. If fresh fruit is used, it should be cooked in the combined syrup and water until tender - about ten minutes.
  2. If canned fruit is used, the cooking is not necessary.
  3. Thicken with the cornstarch mixed with an equal quantity of cold water, add the salt and a little cinnamon or nutmet if the flavor is liked.
  4. When partly cooked, pour into the pastry shells.
