Ingredients for Lentil Stock Recipe
- ½ pound lentils
- 3 quarts cold water
- Small piece of bay-leaf
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 onion
Instructions
- Wash the lentils; soak them in one quart of water overnight.
- Tie them in muslin and put them into a saucepan with the water in which they were soaked plus two quarts. Add the salt.
- Bring to boiling point; skim.
- Add the onion and bay-leaf; boil for two hours.
- Take out the lentils and strain.
