Ingredients for Lemon Filling

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • Grated rind of 1 large lemon
  • 4 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable butter
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Sift the sugar and the flour together, beat the egg slightly, mix all the ingredients, and cook in a double boiler until thickened, stirring often.
  2. Let cool and spread between layers of cake.
