Ingredients for Honigkuchen (from Holland)
- Mix with 1 pound of raised bread dough:
- 1 pound strained honey
- ¼ cup butter
- ½ ounce cinnamon
- Pinch cloves
- Nutmeg
- Grated rind of 1 lemon
- ¼ pound chipped citron
- 1 ounce candied ginger
- Yolks of 4 eggs, whites of 2
- ½ teaspoon soda
- 1 cup flour

- Bake in loaf; decorate with almond fancy meringues.
