Ingredients for Hollandaise Sauce Recipe

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. Beat butter to cream.
  2. Add yolks one at a time.
  3. Beat well.
  4. Add the lemon juice,salt and pepper.
  5. Five minutes before serving, add water a little at a time, stirring well.
  6. Place bowl in a sauce pan of boiling water stirring rapidly until it thickens like custard.
