Ingredients for Hoe Cake Recipe 1

• 1 cup cornmeal
• 1 tablespoon pastry flour
• 1 cup milk
• ¼ cup cream
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 egg

Instructions

1. Mix meal, flour, and salt.
2. Heat milk and cream. When boiling hot, pour over meal mixture.
3. Mix well.
4. Separate the egg, stir the yolk into the meal mixture. Beat the egg white stiff and fold it in last.
5. Drop by spoonfuls on an oiled baking pan and bake at 450 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
