Ingredients for Graham bread without molasses Recipe

  1. 1 pound graham flour that is real wheat meal
  2. 1 cup and 2 tablespoons lukewarm water
  3. 1 cake compressed yeast
  4. 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  5. 3 tablespoons cooking oil
  6. 3 teaspoons sugar

Instructions

  1. Sift the Graham flour but do not throw away the bran; it will be used later. In making a larger quantity of bread, it is not necessary to use an equally large proportion of yeast.
  2. Mix the remaining ingredients together and add it to the Graham flour.
  3. Allow the dough to rise.
  4. To make the bread lighter, punch it down in the middle after the dough has risen and fold in the sides so as to make a hard ball.
  5. Turn the dough over and allow it to rise a second time.
  6. When it has risen the second time, mold it into loaves.
  7. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
