Ingredients for Gluten Bread Recipe 3
- 2 cups scalded milk
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening
- 1/4 cup warm water
- 1/2 yeast cake
- 3 cups gluten flour
Instructions
- Mix vegetable shortening, boiling water, milk, and salt.
- When lukewarm, add yeast cake dissolved in warm water, egg, and gluten.
- Let rise.
- Beat well. Add enough gluten to make a stiff dough and knead well.
- Allow to rise again and shape in loaves. Place in bread pans, let rise, and bake for one hour at 400 degrees.
- Sufficient for two small loaves.
