Ingredients for Ginger Snaps Recipe 5
- 2 cups molasses
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup vegetable shortening
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons powdered ginger
- 1 teaspoon powdered mace
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons boiling water
- Flour

Instructions
- Cream vegetable shortening and sugar together, add molasses, spices, salt, soda mixed with boiling water and sufficient flour to make stiff paste.
- Roll out thin, cut with small cutter, lay on vegetable shorteninged tins and bake in hot oven from five to seven minutes.
- Sufficient for one hundred snaps.
