Ingredients for German Chocolate Cake Recipe
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/3 cup plain yogurt
- 12 squares German chocolate
- 1 cup cola-flavored soda
- 2 cups flour
- 1 1/3 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Mix together the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Set aside.
- Heat butter, yogurt, chocolate, and cola over low heat until chocolate melts. Beat this in to the flour mixture.
- Blend in the buttermilk, eggs, and vanilla and beat until smooth and creamy.
- Pour batter into two greased and floured 9-inch round pans.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Top with a coconut pecan frosting.
