Ingredients for Garlic Mashed Potatoes Recipe
- 2 lb. potatoes, cut and peeled
- 1 garlic clove, de-skinned and minced
- 6 tbsp. butter
- 3/4 cup heavy cream or milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Fill a large pot half full with warm water and potatoes. # Cover pot with lid and bring to a boil.
- Turn heat back slightly to prevent water from boiling over. Let potatoes boil until tender when poked with a fork.
- Once potatoes are cooked, drain water from the pot, then return to stove.
- Turn heat to medium and add butter. Leave on stove until butter has melted.
- In a separate pot, bring cream or milk to boil. Be careful not to overheat the milk so as to avoid curdling. Remove immediately once milk begins to boil.
- Using an electric mixer, mix the potatoes and milk. Add the garlic and salt and pepper to taste and continue to blend until potatoes are smooth and fluffy.
