Instructions
- Prepare a boiled custard by scalding a pint of milk and then adding the yolks of three eggs beaten with two tablespoons of sugar; when of the right consistency remove from the fire and stir in while hot four ounces of melted chocolate; allow it to cool and then add a pint of whipped cream; turn into the freezer, and when half frozen pour in a cup of chopped nut meats, half a cup of candied cherries, two tablespoons of sliced preserved ginger and one tablespoon of chopped preserved citron.
- When frozen repack in a melon mold and serve on a large platter surrounded by burning brandy.
