Ingredients for Frozen Custard

  • 2½ cups milk
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Heat one and one-half cups of the milk in a double boiler.
  2. Stir into it the cornstarch stirred smooth with a little cold milk.
  3. Then add the yolks and whites of the eggs, beaten separately, first diluting the yolks with some of the hot milk.
  4. Remove from the fire, and stir in the sugar and vanilla.
  5. Let the custard cool, then pour in the rest of the milk, or part of it may be cream.
  6. Freeze.
