Fried Tomatoes Recipe 2

Ingredients for Fried Tomatoes

  • 4 medium sized tomatoes
  • Fine dry bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • corn oil

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the tomatoes and slide crosswise to make three thick pieces.
  2. Dust with salt, pepper and a little sugar and roll in fine dry crumbs.
  3. Beat the egg, add the mil, dip the slices in this, dip again in crumbs and fry in deep corn oil, hot enough to brown a bit of bread in one minute, 350 degrees F.
  4. Drain the tomatoes on crumpled paper and serve plan, or on toast with white sauce.
