Fried Raw Potatoes Recipe

Instructions
- Slice crosswise half a dozen potatoes very thin--as thin as wafers.
- Melt in a frying-pan 1 tablespoon each of shortening and butter.
- When this boils, place in it the sliced potatoes.
- Season them, then cover tightly to let the steam assist in the cooking, and fry to a golden brown, turning them when necessary.
- To be served very hot.
