Ingredients for Fried Cakes Recipe

  • Cream 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unmelted shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1½ teaspoons grated nutmeg
  • 1¾ cups sweet milk
  • 1 level teaspoon baking-soda
  • 2 level teaspoons cream of tartar

Instructions

  1. Fry golden brown in deep fat; drain, and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
