Ingredients for French Toast Recipe 3

  • 12 slices white bread, 1/4" thick
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup
  • 1 pint milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • Corn oil

Instructions

  1. Beat the eggs. Add milk, corn syrup, and salt.
  2. Dip the bread in egg mixture, one slice at a time. Drain for a moment and fry in sufficient corn oil to keep from sticking.
  3. Turn once, lightly browning both sides.
  4. Serve immediately as the main dish, with bacon, or as a breakfast, luncheon, or supper dish with corn syrup or fruit syrup.
