Ingredients for Fowl Pie Recipe

  • Fowl (turkey, duck, goose, chicken, etc.); leftovers are fine.
  • Onion juice
  • Lemon juice
  • Seasonings: parsley, bay leaf, salt, paprika, etc.
  • Butter to taste
  • 2 hard boiled eggs
  • Flour

Instructions

  1. Cut fowl into joints, divide the breast into quarters, and put it in a saucepan with plenty of water.
  2. Season with onion juice and the juice of half a lemon; cover closely, and simmer gently for several hours or until the fowl is tender.
  3. Strain off the gravy and season it as desired.
  4. Return to the fire, stir in a lump of butter rolled in flour, and cook for one minute.
  5. Cut the meat from the bones and arrange it in a deep bake-dish; pour in the gravy
  6. Lay egg slices over the top, cover with a good crust, and bake at 350 degrees until golden.
