Ingredients for Flannel Cakes Recipe

  • 1 1/2 pints flour
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 heaping teaspoons baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 pints milk

Instructions

  1. Sift together flour, sugar, salt, and powder.
  2. Add beaten eggs and milk; mix into smooth batter that will run in continuous stream from pitcher.
  3. Bake on hot griddle to a rich brown color in cakes the size of tea saucers.
  4. Serve with maple syrup.
