Ingredients for Filling For Walnut Layer Cake Recipe

• 1 cup chopped walnuts
• 1 cup cream or 2/3 cup sour cream
• 1 cup sugar
• ¼ teaspoon salt
• ½ teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

1. Mix together all the ingredients except the vanilla, and heat to boiling in a double boiler.
2. Then boil for a few minutes directly over the fire.
3. Beat till cool enough to spread on the cake.
4. Beat in the vanilla.
