Ingredients for Favorite Pound Cake
- ½ cup solid vegetable fat
- Scant 1 cup sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- ½ teaspoon vanilla flavor
- 3 eggs
- Scant 1-½ cups flour

Instructions
- Put the solid fat into a bowl.
- Add the salt and the lemon juice, and cream with a spoon until smooth and white.
- Add the sugar gradually, and continue stirring until very light and creamy.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, and beat until light.
- Fold in the flour, pour into an oiled pan, and bake in a slow oven, about 40 minutes, the same as loaf cake.
