Ingredients for Entire Wheat Rolls Recipe

  • 2 cups entire wheat flour (ground fine)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 4 tablespoons solid vegetable fat
  • 2 teaspoons sugar (or 2 tablespoons meltose)
  • About 2/3 cup cold water

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Work the fat in slowly.
  3. Stir in the water and work into a medium dough.
  4. Knead on a flat board, folding it over and over.
  5. Press together to enclose air.
  6. Roll out to 1/2-inch thickness, cut into strips 1/2 inch in width, and roll each piece slightly to remove the sharp edges.
  7. Cut crosswise into 3-inch lengths and lay in a baking pan, leaving a little space between.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes or until it reaches a very light brown color.
