Ingredients for English Mushroom Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons chopped onion
  • 1/3 cup strained stewed tomato
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ½ cup mushrooms
  • 1½ cups brown sauce

Instructions

  1. Cook the onion and butter fifteen to twenty minutes in a double boiler.
  2. Add the tomato and other seasonings.
  3. Chop the mushrooms, and add; then stir in the brown sauce.
  4. Reheat, and serve.
