Ingredients for English Cookies Recipe

• 2 whole eggs or 4 yolks, lightly beaten
• 1 cup sugar
• ¾ cup butter
• 2 cups flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• ¾ cup sherry wine
• 2 teaspoons cinnamon
• ½ teaspoon cloves
• 1 cup raisins, chopped
• 3/4 cup pecans, chopped

Instructions

1. Cream together eggs, sugar and butter.
2. In a separate bowl, blend flour and baking powder; add to egg mixture and blend well.
3. In another bowl, dissolve cinnamon and cloves in sherry wine; add to batter and mix well.
4. Add raisins and pecans; mix well
5. Bake in gem rings
